“Scott” is a facilitative leader with over 25 years of operations and management experience in healthcare administration with professional interests in personal, leadership, and organizational development. He has the ability to bring the unknown into knowing – a new and undiscovered knowledge or a new way of looking at things. He believes that (1) “all help is self-help” based on the observation that “we receive everything we accept and dismiss everything we reject.” So, what you have in your life you have accepted or “helped yourself to.” (2) No one can self-develop for another. Self-development is on you. (3) He understands the sustained or transformational power of heuristic or experiential learning highlighted by Alan Watts’ quote; “you can’t get wet by reading the word ‘water’ – you must dive in.”
William Scott Erickson received his Bachelor of Arts from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, majoring in Biology. He then earned a Master’s of Business Administration in healthcare from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While working in management and leadership roles in residential schools for learning and emotionally challenged children, medical practices and hospitals, he pursued interests in professional leadership, organizational development and coaching through membership, conferences, and workshops conducted by the Medical Group Management Association, the American College of Medical Practice Executives, the Organizational Development Network and International Coaching Federation. He successfully completed the Coaching for Transformation program in May 2013 offered by Leadership That Works, Troy, Pennsylvania.
People are the most important resource of any relationship, family, organization, communities, etc., for all systems, products, and services first appeared as thoughts before appearing as actions or form, and thinking is a human activity. Understanding this simple and profound observation, Scott focuses his attention on professional development from the inside-out by expanding self-imposed boundaries in a highly supportive process and environment steeped in Appreciative Inquiry, Motivational Interviewing, Self-Awareness Theory and Transformational Coaching.
Scott is a wise, sensitive and intuitive coach who is able to listen with compassion, openness and non-judgement. He has that special gift that allows one to dig deep and find their own answers leaving you feeling empowered and inspired. Scott is a rare gem and is the real deal!
